Child Okeford is a picturesque village nestled amongst the captivating landscape of the Blackmore Vale in the heart of the North Dorset countryside.

Situated on the River Stour it is four miles from Sturminster Newton and six miles from Blandford Forum.

Child Okeford has a lot to offer visitors and residents, so please use this website to find out more about our beautiful village and the numerous clubs, societies, venues and activities it proudly boasts.

Useful information about local services, contact details and businesses can also be found on this website.

On the 7th of August villagers were invited to a meeting in the Community Centre to discuss a fresh approach to the village web site, and the way ahead. From the meeting, it was felt that the responsibility for maintaining the website should be undertaken by representatives from the village. To this end a small group was formed. We have been given the remit of reviewing the website and bringing all the information up to date, and also consulting with the villagers as to what additional content people would like to see on the site. In the next few weeks we will be contacting all those who have pages on the website giving them the opportunity to update or amend their details. The group will then report back to the villagers at the village Welcome Day, which is being held on Sunday October 8th. In the Village Hall.

If there is anything you would like to see included on the website please email us on covwscoordinator@gmail.com

The Village Questionaire

We recently asked residents of Child Okeford to help us define the needs and requirements of the Community Centre & Sports Field Facilities and how they feel we can improve what is already in place to ensure that we have a vision for the future that will meet the needs of  our growing and vibrant community.  We would like to thank all those who took time to respond.  After an independent audit we are pleased to announce the findings of the survey.  Please click here to review our findings.
