Child Okeford Walkers

Child Okeford Walkers

Our walks are non-demanding in that we try to avoid steep gradients and stiles. As such they are social events so that we can enjoy good company and conversations as we see the countryside and take some light exercise.

A typical distance walked is about 3 miles and takes us about 11/2 hours, this is followed by a convivial pub lunch. The walks are chosen to suit the time of year, avoiding as much mud as possible in the winter and then benefiting from the flowers in the spring and summer. Whenever possible, the walk and pub are ‘researched’ a few days before the event to check on current suitability.

We usually meet outside the village hall on the third Thursday of the month and share cars to travel to the start of the walk. Here we pre-order our meals at the designated pub so that the meals are ready for us on our return.

Arrangements will be posted in ‘The Hill’ closer to the time.
