Jubilee Peel Attempt

This event has ended

On Thursday 2 June the village’s Jubilee celebrations will commence with a peal attempt on the bells of St Nicholas Parish Church. The peal of 5040 different changes will commence at 1000 and, if all goes well, should be completed just before 1300. The peal, conducted by the tower captain of Wimborne Minster, will comprise a number of different methods. Also in the band will be the editor of The Ringing World (the bell ringers’ weekly journal). If funds can be found, it is hoped to erect a peal board in the Church recording the peal, so that there will be a lasting memorial of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the village.
