Child Okeford Jubilee Celebrations in Pictures

A selection of photos from the recent celebrations.

Thursday 2nd June and the Celebrations start on Hambledon Hill with a beacon.
More than 12 beacons were visible from the Hill.
Meanwhile at the Cross the newly formed choir sang the Song for the Commonwealth
This was the first outing for the Village Cryer,
Revellers outside the Baker Arms were able to see the beacon set alight.
Sunday 5th June and a procession set off from the Saxon Inn to the Cross
The first appearance of Her Majesty.
The Royal Tractor…..
which conveyed HMQ to the Cross.
As the procession moved through the village more and more villagers came out to follow.

Hats and flags were to be seen everywhere.
The next few pictures show villagers gathering for the village photo.
Difficult to believe but the tractor had outstripped the crowd when the procession turned down Station Road.
I wonder how many village celebrations have Sooty, Soo and Sweep seen.
