Women’s Institute
The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to our communities.We are a lively group with a membership of 50 members from within Child Okeford and from our neighbouring villages.Our activities are non-party political, non-denominational and include support for local as well as national events. They include informative talks and activities on a wide variety of subjects, national concerns and issues, in addition to craft , well being and cookery activities.
In addition, we have a number of active subgroups:-
- a monthly Coffee Social group
- a monthly Craft Group
- a weekly Walking Netball Group
- seasonal sessions of Kurling and Skittles
We enjoy taking part in all village, Dorset WI and national WI activities
We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Child Okeford Village Hall from 2.30pm
