Virtual Bell Ringing- VE Day Commemoration

On 8 May, Bob Crighton rang and conducted  a Quarter Peal of Plain Bob Doubles on his I-Pad in 42 minutes, using the Mobel App to ring  all the other bells.  It was rung to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, and to remember Gunner Douglas Percy Arnold, a Child Okeford bellringer killed in action in WWII.  Rung during the Covid 19 lockdown when the Church was closed.

Our new old website !

As many potential visitors to the website in recent months will have discovered we had a problem with our new security certificate which meant that you had a scary warning each time you visited the website, saying it was hacked. Of course it wasn’t it was just one of those technoglitches which our service provider was unable to resolve. As a result hosting of the village website has been moved to a new provider and we are pleased to say they have resolved the problems. What’s more they are a local company [Parrot Creative] in Sturminster Newton. https://www.parrotcreative.co.uk/
The result has been an immediate improvement to the site as the speed has increased dramatically. We hope you enjoy the website.
